Martial Arts Academy
For over 15 years, we have been serving the community and the Lord by providing expert instruction in “Ten-Do”, a form of martial arts training that includes Karate-Do, Judo, and Jujitsu.
Our goal is to enrich your mind, body, and spirit by teaching you practical self-defense techniques, self-control, self-confidence, and discipline while, at the same time, getting you in the best physical shape possible!

Ten-Do, which means “The Way of Heaven”, is a unique blend of martial art systems including Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, and Shorin Ryu.

When my Chandler and I moved to Maryland, 10 years ago, he was already a martial arts student and promoted to yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do. I was searching for a Black owned and operated martial arts school and was eventually referred to Faith Fighter Martial Arts Academy (FFMA) with Grand Master Carl Matthews!
Sensei Carl believes in encouraging his students to utilize their gifts! He, and his black belts, teach discipline, Christian values, integrity, how to protect yourself, your family, and your community. His commitment, compassion, discipline and leadership skills is of Black Excellence! He has been more than a Sensei. For some, he has been a father figure on/off the mat!
